Dita Audio's Fujiya Avic 2014 Spring Headphone Festival surprise
In roughly 44 hours, Fujiya Avic's Spring Headphone show will kick off. In the midst of it, Dita Audio will inherit a bit more awesomeness. That awesomeness will show itself in two super secret items:
1. The Answer (Truth Edition) in gold for Fujiya Avic
- it is limited to 18 sets
- It rings in at 99.999¥ apiece
2. a 3,5mm to 3,5mm interconnect that connects your favourite to your favourite amp. Rest assured that this cable employs all the Van Den Hul goodness you've come to love in your Truth Edition earphones.
- you will be able to test it at Dita Audio's booth
- in light of the headphone festival, Dita Audio will be giving away a very limited number of its interconnects!
- giveaway interconnects will come in waterproof carrying cases
NOTE: Gold Truth Editions are special editions sold only at Fujiya Avic. Gold editions will be available for display at Dita Audio's Fujiya booth (if you are lucky enough to be in Tokyo at the time).
Reference: I reviewed both Dita Audio earphones at Headfonia earlier this year. I am a firm fan of their sound and am totally stoked to see/hear what they have on display this time around.
EDIT: certain number was changed to very limited in regard to Dita's interconnects
Glove Audio's DAC amp/case for the Astell&Kern AK100
Looks pretty interesting. More info to come at www.gloveaudio.com.
This link and graphic provided by the prodigious thumb, Sasaki.
UPDATE: earlier versions of this article said that the Glove Audio's DAC amp/case was built for the Astell&Kern AK240. It is not. It is built for the first AK100 and AK120. My sincerest apologies. You will notice that the link is still the same.
Audio360: early impressions of the Woo Audio WA7tp
Audio360's round table discussion of the WA7tp tube power supply companion to the WA7 headphone amplifier is encouraging to say the least. Specifically, it is worth highlighting Kevin Venable's impressions:
“Ah cool... I find lapsteel to be a hard instrument to listen too on a lot of gear. It sounds too harsh, a bottleneck slide playing like in blues as well. It is quite enjoyable with the WA7tp. My prefered rig for this kind of music has always been my vinyl rig, but this is getting closer.”

Headfi: Currawong reviews Dita The Answer
As per usual, it is informative and doesn't require you to keep your finger on the mouse trigger. Head on over to my HFN review of the same earphones for another view. These are great earphones that truly highlight the benefits of a single dynamic driver over complicated balanced armature setups.

Headfonics: HiFiman HM901 review
The much-delayed, and rather impressive HiFiman HM901 receives good coverage over at Headfonics.
“Perhaps the biggest surprise for me was the HE6 and the HM-901. I am usually quite skeptical when it comes to anything other than Class A min of 5 watts per channel and preferably balanced and true enough the HM-901 doesn’t drive as authoratively as the Mjolnir or the EF6 but what it did seem to manage to do was to give me a competent level of volume control between 7 and 8 without clipping or sounding overly thin or tinny and definitely not sharp. Outside of the DX100 I think on experience this is probably the only DAP I could recommend at this price point to pair with the HE6 and even then I much prefer the more natural tonality the HM-901 with the balanced amp card over the DX100.”
While not boasting the same level of build and attention to detail as its Astell&Kern counterparts, the HM901 looks to be a solid contender for most-reaching all-in-one digital audio player.

Headfonia: Fostex HP-V1 review
It was so awesome getting to know you, Fostex HP-V1. I will miss your sweetness, your rich breath, your tantalising highs. You are a headphone amp worth every penny asked. And now, I ask Ω readers to head to Headfonia to read, to commiserate, to drink with me. The long night of my soul has come. And I am bereft one of the finest portable amplifiers ever made.
