Four years ago I purchased a Quad Lock case for my iPhone 6. From day one the thing blew my mind. Its TPU chassis fastened to my bike, to my tripod, and with the right accessories, to cars and arms, as securely as a bayonet lens to a camera. I abused it both on and off road. It was wonderful. Now and again I trumpet support of Quad Lock.

Daring Fireball, John Gruber's excellent Apple-centric blog is forgetting its roots. Post-election, it breaks down like this: 43 posts, 17 of which relate directly or indirectly to Trump, his supporters, the election, Hilary, and/or ancillary political issues. Among the rest are adverts, podcast-notices, and a few noteworthy Mac-related essays.
Read morePoor copy: macOS Sierra install splash screen
"To set up the installatioin of macOS Sierra, click Continue" reads too much like a machine translation from Japanese. Try this on, Apple: "Click Continue to set up macOS Sierra".

Apple's leadership are either so lost in dogmatic progressivism to realise that at core, they are an electronics company. That, or they are so enamoured with such progressivism as to not care.
The screen capture above and the poem below are lifted from this article at MacRumors.

Thank god for progressive projects like #DisarmTheiPhone, and the jigging of emojis in iOS 10 beta 4. The writing is on the wall for iPhone shootings.

MacRumors World AIDS Day: magnet for informal fallacies
What's political about Apple recognising World Aids Day? The answer: the comments section. (NOTE: my notes below each (#'s denote comment order):
Comment #1: Apple is collecting funds to help people who contracted a disease.
Good for them.
- straw man fallacy
Comment #6: Not trying to be a downer or anything. But like one of the previous guy said, AIDS is mostly contracted disease. I wonder if it would be batter if they direct this toward cancer or something else.
- part straw man fallacy, part presuppositional fallacy
Comment #13: ...Apple would do much better focusing their huge pile of money on something else, but, Apple is a left wing leaning organization and the CEO is gay so no surprise.
- tu quoque fallacy, argument from ignorance fallacy
Ah, the internet, outside it, you will not find a more treacherous hive of uneducated scum and villainy.
Apple bought Disney?
Gruber lays relied too much on Strunk's teaching in the concluding sentence to this blog post:
Let's try: "What if Pixar was purchased by Apple instead of by Disney?" That would clear up the frantic morning Google of did Apple buy Disney?

Regarding MacRumors's use of the "political nature" disclaimer in its front page article, forum user, JDee, says it best:
While it's not worth it, the entire thread is up here.
27" iMac hinge default
Mine's had this problem for over a year, but I've not had a long enough break from work to fix it. If the hinge in yours snapped, and your iMac is guaranteed under Apple Care, it's time for a trip to the Genius Bar.
Make sure to make note of this thread at Apple's Support Communities.
Mac Rumors: iPhone home button joystick patent
While at first sounding like a great way to remove one thumb from an already crowded gaming screen, I wonder to what awkward lengths Apple are willing to go to help the other hand out.
