How big is the Lear NS-U1 earphone?

Subject: LEAR NS-U1

In my Headfonia review I wended on about the fit issues I experienced with the LEAR NS-U1 earphone, most of which are due to its immense size. I hope that the above photograph illustrates just how big it is. 

It sounds great (if detail retrieval isn't your end goal), but it is an absolute bugger to use. If it could slim down whist retaining similar sound character and quality, it would be a winner.
