FujiRumors: X-T1 with hardware upgrade coming soon?

The original FujiRumors article references two trusted sources, a sign that, in abject defiance of Betteridge's Law, X-T1b may be real. A smart, customer-oriented, brand-conscious company would establish hard release schedules, keep to them, and defy rumours. It would look to the future and build perfection. It wouldn't rely on prototypical designs that mould paying customers into beta testers.

But let's face it, Fujifilm is a Japanese camera manufacturer in a rudderless Japanese camera market. If true, this could be the first concrete example of Fujifilm pulling an Astell & Kern-esque market ejaculation.

Fujifilm X200: don't fix what ain't broke

Some say the X200 will sport a 35mm full frame sensor. Others reckon it will adopt a flip screen. Many of us are waiting for a 24 megapixel sensor, and/or more. So far, every rumour focuses on technology, not implementation. Not one considers the Xx00 series' target customer- that is, if it even has one. I hope for all X fans that it does.

DPReview reader, ChevChelios, took it upon himself to design and tool a clever thumbrest for his Fujifilm X-E1.

“Modelled from wax directly on the camera surface.

Casted in CoCroMo (Prosthetics-steel) and finally Glasspearl-blasted.

Glued some “leather” from an old Minolta X-300 on it and mounted it via 2-comoponent glue to the Fuji.”

It is nice to see Leica carry the straightforward design of their cameras forward. Naturally, I've handled neither the new T nor the Summicron. And until I read Leica's "Unique pictures. Unique bokeh" marketing blurb, nothing about the T, nor its lenses, interested me.

From what I hear, the OMD series has better overall AF, which may or may not prove that it's the test that matters. Still, for this Tony Northrup video, it seems that the Fujifilm X-T1 can kick it with the best of them.

Says Rudolf in this thread, "just use a little paper tape". One-ups Rudolf with photos, says Alxy, "Great idea, here, I fixed it".

I doubt Fujifilm will find as elegant a way to fix one of the huge blemishes on this otherwise excellent camera.

If you’re waiting for a a complete, compact, full frame system, it’s possible you’ll have it in a little over years after the X-Pro2 is released, provided it is in fact full frame. Fujifilm have already shown they can do it.”

Fuji VS Fuji have it right. If ~35mm full frame is the next logical step in iterating the X series, it is an important one. If you are a dyed-in-the-wood APS-C fan, you already have what you need. Stifling innovation with "FF no-no" helps no one.

According to this thread, it may be. My X-T1 (pictured above), with its impossibly recessed buttons, will go back next week for maintenance. I hope it comes back much easier to use.
